Insert material

Add the material "Sample plastics" to the following manufacturing parts:

Insert material

  • The material is available in Data Administration.
  • The material has a density.

  1. In the project structure, open PC Mouse > Upper part > Hand rest > Material.

  2. Right-click on Basic material > Edit.

    The "Material - Properties" dialog opens.

  3. Select the "Basic Material" tab.

  4. Select PC Mouse in the project structure. The existing basic materials are shown.

  5. Select "Sample plastics" in the Material table.

  6. Switch to the "Geometry" tab.

  7. In the Mass Definition group, select the option Manual input.

  8. For the group Mass Definition, enter the values from the table Material for the Net mass and Spread input fields.

    The gross mass is calculated automatically and corresponds to the value in the table Material.

  9. Click OK.

    The dialog closes.

    The material "Sample plastics" is added to the manufacturing part "Hand rest".

  10. Repeat steps 1 to 9 to add the material with the respective properties from the table Material to all other manufacturing parts.

  11. Save the project.

The basic materials are automatically calculated in the "Basic" calculation mode . The material is shown in pink to indicate this.

Note

The weight of the basic material can be calculated based on the entered density. The weight is necessary in order to calculate the material costs because they are saved in Euro/kg in the database.
